Skin Care Acne Control

Do you make your own soap?A friend of mine just passed on a few recipes to me that she swears by.
I checked out the list and they look like natural acne fighting ingredients to me.At any rate,as long as you follow standard soap making procedures(anything with lye should age 6 weeks before use)these can’t harm your skin and may clear up any bouts of acne–current or future!
Oatmeal and honey,a natural astringent soap, and a refreshing acne mask recipes follow.
Natural Acne Fighter–Oatmeal and Honey Soap
All measurements, excluding honey and oatmeal are in weight, not bulk.
5.5 oz coconut oil
5-oz.shortening
3 -oz.lard
1-oz.cocoa butter
1-oz.palm oil
1-oz.apricot kernel oil
2.5 oz.lye
6-oz.water
1-tbs.honey
1/2cup blended oatmeal
You can also try this melt and pour soap if you have glycerin on hand, although this starts to get rather expensive. You may find that buying tea tree oil soap from the health food shop much more reasonable…
Natural Antiseptic Soap
(This works because the tea tree oil is a natural antiseptic and many cases of acne are spread by overactive bacteria growth.)
2cups glycerin soap base
2tbs.tea tree essential oil
Finally here’s an herbal mask.I know that cucumber and parsley are known tighten and purify agents so if you’re looking to draw toxins out of loose or aging skin this is a 10+!
Cucumber Refresher Mask
1tbs.cucumber
1tbs.parsley
1tbs.yogourt
Throw it all in a blender and whirl it together until fluffy.
Lay down and apply the mixture to clean skin.
Rest for 15 minutes, then gently rinse off by splashing warm water on your face.
That’s all for today!Have a great week!

Acne Prone Skin Care

Your skin is precious and thus taking care of your skin is an essential thing to do.This already important task gains even more importance if you are suffering from skin woes like acne.Skin that is prone to acne is already damaged and not taking care of it will further add to the damage that has already occurred.
Here is a daily skin care regime that will help you take care of your acne prone skin in the perfect manner.
Cleansing
This is the first step of any skin care regime.Your skin can never be devoid of acne if it is not clean.Though cleansing may seem as the simplest thing to do,there are a whole lot of factors that you must consider.First of all,you need to use the right cleanser for your skin.
Go for a cleanser that is soap free and non comedogenic. The facial cleanser from Exposed is a good choice. While cleansing your face make sure that you don't use too hot or too cold water.Cleansing your face twice a day is enough to keep your skin clean and clear.
Toning
Toning is another vital component of any skin care regime.Toning helps remove excess oil or any left over make up from your skin.Dab toner or astringent on a cotton ball and gently wipe it over your face.Make sure you do not rub it too hard on your skin.
Always opt for an alcohol free toner as it won't leave your face too dry and itchy.Go in for a toner that cleans your skin and at the same time leaves it subtly moisturized. The Exposed clearing tonic is a good choice. The product not just clears your clogged pores but also helps in killing acne causing bacteria.
Medicating
Acne prone skin does need special attention. So you need to add something more to the usual cleansing, toning and moisturizing routine.People suffering from acne must imbibe the use of some or the other medicating cream. You could use a medication cream as prescribed by the doctor or opt for any over the counter products. The Exposed acne treatment system is a nice option if yu are considering any over the counter products.
Moisturizing
Most people suffering from acne avoid using any moisturizers. They feel that an already skin does not need any moisturizers. However, this is not true.Even oily skin needs a lightweight, oil free moisturizer.Opt for a light moisturizing gel and it will not trigger acne breakouts.
If you follow this daily skin care regime then you will not only be able to treat acne damaged skin but also prevent future acne breakouts.Remember your skin is precious and it does deserve a lot of care and attention.

Acne Prone Skin

Let me first warn you that this mask is incredibly sticky, messy and NOT for sensitive skin.On the bright side,it smells sweet,is a lovely pastel pink and according to Chelsea, tastes yummy.
I found out that Chelsea has incredibly sensitive skin. She complained that the mask stung which is understandable considering it's an astringent. So,I made what was supposed to be a soothing cleanser containing fine oatmeal, honey and milk with some aloe vera gel.Yet,she still complained that it hurt.I shot her an incredulous look."Really?",I asked. So,I cleansed her face with a little bit of honey water and dabbed just a tiny bit of jojoba oil on her face as moisturiser which she admitted felt better.
The key to cleansing ultra sensitive skin is to keep things simple and it's probably wise to dilute everything with distilled or spring water.Acidic ingredients like citrus fruits are best kept at bay.Another very important thing you have to remember if your skin falls into this category is to always, always do a patch test on the inside of your elbow.
Rub a little of the product you are testing on the inside of your elbow and cover with a band aid.Remove after 24 hours. However if it any time at all your skin starts itching unbearably(sometimes a mild tingling action is normal),remove the band aid immediately and wash with lots of cool water. To be safe, assume you are allergic to it.After 24 hours,if you experience any redness, wash the area and discontinue use immediately. If the reaction is strong or severe, meaning the skin is raised and thickened with large blisters and intense redness,I would advise you to see a doctor about the allergy. It might be worthwhile.
I'm scaring you, aren't I? Don't be,patch tests are the only way to determine if your skin is allergic to something. Then, all you have to do is avoid it!
1 very ripe strawberry
1 teaspoon of yoghurt
1 teaspoon of honey
1 teaspoon of cornstarch
oatmeal
Mash the strawberry until it's pulpy. Add the yoghurt and honey and stir to combine.Add the cornstarch and thicken the mask with the oatmeal. You may want to lay your head on a pillow covered with a towel after applying the mask.Wait 10-15 minutes, then rinse off with warm water.
