Acne Tip

Cure for Pimples and Acne
Pimples are tiny skin lesions or inflammations of the skin. They are commonly caused by clogged or infected pores. They may appear as deeper lumps(cysts or nodules)on the face, neck, chest, back and sometimes shoulders.
Severe acne can affect many facets of a person's life, causing a great deal of embarrassment and stress. Some severe forms of acne like acne cysts may rupture and cause scars that can result in psychological effects on the sufferer.Having skin full of pimples and zits may significantly limit one's social life.Although acne is not considered to be a life threatening disorder, the psychological impact of acne can be quite profound as it affects the most visible parts of your body.
If your acne condition is severe it can cause disfiguring and require years of treatment. In such cases seeking the help of a qualified dermatologist will be your best option.
Acne sebaceous gland follicles
What Causes Pimples & Acne
Pimples usually develop after blackheads or whiteheads have become infected.
There are oil glands on your chest, face and back numbering in the thousands. In fact, between the nose and cheek areas there are as many as two thousand oil glands every square inch. The function of these oil glands is to lubricate the skin by producing oil,or sebum.Oil that is produced in the glands flows through follicles or tiny ducts to the surface of the skin.It usually starts far beneath the surface of the skin.A blemish(or internal lump)begins about 2 to 3 weeks before it appears on your skin's surface.Acne first begins to form in your sebaceous hair follicles. You know this as"pores",the tiny holes on you skin.Deep within each hair follicle, sebaceous glands generate sebum, the oil that keeps your skin soft, moist and pliable. As part of your skin's renewal process the old cells die and are shed off.Normally, this cell shedding process happens gradually, and fresh new skin takes its place.
But sloughing(the process where living tissue is separated from dead skin tissue)is not the same for everyone. Some people shed cells evenly while others don't.The result of uneven sloughing is that dead cells become sticky, clogging together to form a plug, similar to a cork in a bottle. This plug traps oil and bacteria inside the follicle.
The trapped oil begins to form a lump as your skin continues its normal oil production.Your body's natural defense system then sends an army of white blood cells to attack the bacteria. The whole process takes around 2 to 3 weeks, resulting in a pimple.
Many teenagers experience pimple outbreaks. It is at this time that the skin attempts to adjust to hormonal changes that occur during puberty. There is a tendency for most people when seeing a'ripe'pimple try to pick or squeeze it.This will cause further damage to your skin as germs or bacterias from your finger tips can cause inflammation and scarring as a result. The risk of infection is also increased. Most times, when acne is ignored,it can leave visible scars on your skin.
Acne Treatment
If left untreated acne can be a serious problem.Chris Gibson, who was once a chronic acne sufferer, found a scientically proven way to permanently clear his acne problem. In fact he cured his acne in 3 days without any harsh prescription drugs or over-the-counter products. In this well researched book Chris revealed the fast and easy way to get rid of your pimples, zits, whiteheads and blackheads.
For pimples that are persistent, consult your dermatologist for an antibiotic solution to be applied to the surface of the skin or an oral antibiotic.Using antibiotics as acne treatment functions to suppress bacterial growth thereby reducing the recurrence of persistent acne.
If you are considering an acne treatment,it's important to get sound information from a reputable source so you know what to expect.Healthy Skin Portal leads you into a range of skin care treatments with details on the top skin care clinics in your area.

Clear Skin Treatment

Natural Herbs and Supplements for Acne
Herbs and botanicals can be found in almost every product we use today, and for go reason. They do in fact serve many purposes. They can be found in cosmetics, soaps, and everything in between. In fact, there are even a bunch of acne treatments that tout natural herbal remedies.
We believe that everything you read on a products packaging or in a magazine should be researched before you spend the money on these“all natural”herbs and supplements. The fact of the matter is that most products are far from all natural. This is why it is so important that you research each and every product before you buy. Many products are just glorified creams and vitamin supplements.
With that being said, there are in fact many natural herbs that can be used to treat acne,as well as many other conditions. So which ones work?Hopefully this article will guide you in the right direction.
Botanicals
Botanicals and herbs are essentially the same thing, and are often used in the place of one another. But by definition an herb is an herb(a particular kind of plant),while botanicals are anything that comes from a plant including flowers, herbs, and roots just to name a few.
Calendula:Also known as the pot marigold, calendula is actually commonly used in home gardens and nurseries across the country. The flowers of this plant can be used to compliment many creams and lotions.
Green Tea:As you probably guessed, this substance is from the green tea leaf.Green tea is said to have many benefits, including acne.
Tea Tree Oil:The tree tea plant finds its home in Australia, where it has been used as topical acne treatments for a long time.Active ingredients found naturally in the oil from this tree has been proven to slow the spread of acne causing bacteria,or P.acnes.Many believe this to be the most effective botanical acne treatment.
Aloe Vera:Aloe vera is one of the most popular botanical treatments, and has been for some time.Aloe vera helps you shed dead skin, and stimulates the growth of new skin.At the same time,it helps smooth the skin to reduce inflammation and irritation.
Herbs
There is an extremely large selection of herbs that can have positive effects on acne. But be careful, herbs can have profound, and sometimes dangerous effects and side effects. We suggest to talk to your dermatologist before trying any herbal treatments at your own discretion.
Over the Counter Herbal Remedies
As we mentioned earlier, many cosmetic products contain an array of botanicals. While the accessibility of these products is great,it also floods the market with a bunch of junk products that get little benefit for the botanicals they contain. The most popular botanical ingredient found in cosmetic products today is green tea.
Vitamins and Mineral Supplements
Many botanical products can attribute their effectiveness to vitamins and minerals,so why not go directly to the source.Supplements follow this exact concept.Supplements are essentially extracted and concentrated vitamins and minerals,as well as any number of other ingredients.
Vitamin A & B:Vitamin B and vitamin A are both found in most creams, gels, and lotions. It is particularly effective for controlling inflammation.
Zinc:Zinc supplements and extracts come in both topical and oral applications. Both methods are quite good at reducing inflammation. It can also prevent future cases of acne by opening up the pores.A side effect of zinc is nausea and my interact negatively with medications you may be taking.
Vitamin C:Vitamin C with bioflavanoids are the only C vitamins that have a direct effect on inflammation.
Vitamin E:Vitamin E plays an interesting role in the treatment of acne.Rather than directly having an effect on acne, this vitamin actually helps the body absorb all the others.
Of course supplements aren’t the only way you can absorb the vitamins and minerals your body needs to naturally fight acne.By ensuring you are getting the nutrients from your food, you are ensuring the long term health of your skin.

Acne Prone Skin

Let me first warn you that this mask is incredibly sticky, messy and NOT for sensitive skin.On the bright side,it smells sweet,is a lovely pastel pink and according to Chelsea, tastes yummy.
I found out that Chelsea has incredibly sensitive skin. She complained that the mask stung which is understandable considering it's an astringent. So,I made what was supposed to be a soothing cleanser containing fine oatmeal, honey and milk with some aloe vera gel.Yet,she still complained that it hurt.I shot her an incredulous look."Really?",I asked. So,I cleansed her face with a little bit of honey water and dabbed just a tiny bit of jojoba oil on her face as moisturiser which she admitted felt better.
The key to cleansing ultra sensitive skin is to keep things simple and it's probably wise to dilute everything with distilled or spring water.Acidic ingredients like citrus fruits are best kept at bay.Another very important thing you have to remember if your skin falls into this category is to always, always do a patch test on the inside of your elbow.
Rub a little of the product you are testing on the inside of your elbow and cover with a band aid.Remove after 24 hours. However if it any time at all your skin starts itching unbearably(sometimes a mild tingling action is normal),remove the band aid immediately and wash with lots of cool water. To be safe, assume you are allergic to it.After 24 hours,if you experience any redness, wash the area and discontinue use immediately. If the reaction is strong or severe, meaning the skin is raised and thickened with large blisters and intense redness,I would advise you to see a doctor about the allergy. It might be worthwhile.
I'm scaring you, aren't I? Don't be,patch tests are the only way to determine if your skin is allergic to something. Then, all you have to do is avoid it!
1 very ripe strawberry
1 teaspoon of yoghurt
1 teaspoon of honey
1 teaspoon of cornstarch
oatmeal
Mash the strawberry until it's pulpy. Add the yoghurt and honey and stir to combine.Add the cornstarch and thicken the mask with the oatmeal. You may want to lay your head on a pillow covered with a towel after applying the mask.Wait 10-15 minutes, then rinse off with warm water.

Acne Prone Skin Care

When you are dealing with boys during puberty,it is helpful to know some things about acne.
Tip #1: Take the condition seriously.Acne outbreaks may not seem like a big deal to you but they may be a big deal to a boy during puberty.
Tip #2: Suggest a gentle acne care skin cleaning regimen rather than severe scrubbing with harsh cleaners.A mild cleanser that can be used twice a day is all that is needed.
Tip #3: Ask a doctor or dermatologist for skin care advice.A health care professional will be able to guide you as far as a good cleaning program.
Tip #4: It is not a good idea to squeeze or pick at blemishes. This practice only makes the acne worse, and makes the scars last longer.
Tip #5: Try using acne product that do not promote blemishes. There are skin care products that are labeled as non-comedogenic that should not clog pores.
Tip #6: If the boy is shaving, try using different types of razors.Sometimes an electric razor is the best but for other boys a safety razor will be more comfortable.
Tip #7: If the acne is severe you may need a dermatologist to prescribe a medication for the boy during puberty.Sometimes a prescription is necessary to lessen the affects of the acne.
